Unlike traditional crime scanner or social alert apps that capitalize on public anxiety to sell targeted ads, CivicSync operates under strict data minimization standards. Every data collection mechanism is designed solely to facilitate verified community action, legitimate District Attorney petitioning, and liaison synchronization.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum necessary information required to operate our platform effectively and verify resident identity:

  • Waitlist & Resident Verification: Full name, email address, ZIP code (e.g., Frisco 75033/75034/75035/75036), and community role.
  • Evidence Submissions (User-Initiated): Security camera clips, dashcam footage, or photos submitted voluntarily by residents through our evidence wizard. Submissions include immutable timestamp and device metadata to preserve legal chain-of-custody.
  • DA Petition Signatures: Digital co-signatures for neighborhood petitions, verified against resident ZIP code boundaries.

3. How Your Data Is Used

Your information is used strictly for the following purposes:

  • Verifying resident eligibility for hyper-local pilot programs (starting in Frisco, TX).
  • Routing verified evidence submissions directly to authorized local law enforcement or prosecutorial offices at your explicit direction.
  • Aggregating neighborhood concerns into formal District Attorney accountability templates.

All video clips, photos, and digital documentation uploaded to CivicSync are encrypted both in transit (using TLS 1.3 encryption) and at rest (using AES-256 encryption). Evidence files are stored in access-restricted, audited cloud storage environments.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not share your personal data with third parties except under the following strict conditions:

  • With Authorized Authorities: Only when you explicitly authorize an evidence submission or join a formal petition intended for delivery to public officials or prosecutors.
  • Essential Infrastructure Providers: Highly secure cloud infrastructure providers (such as Cloudflare and Formspree) bound by strict non-disclosure and data privacy agreements.
