Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 26, 2026 • Applicability: All Users & Frisco Pilot Participants

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the CivicSync platform, website, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. CivicSync, Inc. ("CivicSync") provides tools for resident empowerment, verified evidence submission, and community action.

2. Nature of Platform & Emergency Disclaimer

CivicSync is an independent civic technology platform and is NOT a law enforcement agency or emergency service provider.

In the event of an ongoing crime, medical emergency, fire, or immediate threat to life or safety, you MUST call 911 immediately. Do not rely on CivicSync for emergency response dispatch.

3. Evidence Submission Integrity

CivicSync provides a structured wizard for uploading footage and reporting public safety evidence. You agree that:

  • All uploaded media (video, photo, metadata) is authentic and unaltered.
  • You will not submit falsified, fabricated, or misleading reports.
  • You hold lawful rights or ownership of the media uploaded (e.g., your own security camera or dashcam).
  • Submitting fraudulent evidence to authorities may carry criminal liability under local and state laws.

4. Community Petitions & Conduct

CivicSync enables neighborhoods to unify around formal concern templates addressed to local officials and District Attorneys. Users must adhere to constructive civic standards. Harassment, hate speech, doxovisation, or targeted intimidation will result in immediate termination of account access.

5. Intellectual Property & License

Residents retain ownership of their uploaded evidence and media. By submitting evidence for transmission, you grant CivicSync a limited license to format, encrypt, and deliver the media to designated municipal or law enforcement recipients at your request.

6. Frisco Pilot Program Terms

Features provided during the Frisco, TX pilot phase are subject to continuous improvement and iteration. CivicSync reserves the right to modify pilot availability or update tools to best serve community needs.
